Giving the Camera the Cold Shoulder

Giving the Camera the Cold Shoulder

It’s Day 362 of the Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Project and I practiced some new photo poses, including giving the camera the cold shoulder. Following Zumba this morning and a leisurely lunch catching up with my Swan Sister, Kibby, I asked her to take a few shots of me for today’s post. Though I love the look, I tend to avoid wearing  cold shoulder tops because the name proves true for me and I spend my time in them shivering. Today was no exception, so it felt good to get out of the restaurant’s AC and outside where a sunny day and brick wall provided the perfect setting for pictures. I’ve mentioned in other posts that I’d like to broaden my repertoire of poses and Kibby is creative about pushing me outside my comfort zone. With her gentle nudging, she has me hold my face and and turn my body differently than I do on my own. Because I’m self-conscious about my profile – a childhood friend said I had a witch nose – I don’t feel as natural as I’d like to be, however, I’m willing push past my discomfiture to improve the blog. Of all the pics she took, my favorite is this one where I’m literally giving the camera the cold shoulder.

Me, Pink Collar Coach, in a cotton cold shoulder top, pink shorts & white slides. The n no show footies are showing not to make a fashion statement but to avoid freezing!   I forgot to take them off. LOL. Handbag picks up pink from the shorts.                         The bra strap peeking out is unintentional, too! All Calvin Klein – TJ Maxx.
Swan Sister & photo stylist, Kibby. She’s beautiful inside & out.

As a Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose blogger, I must confess I don’t know anything about modeling or photography. I just have a love of fashion and photos of it. Combine that with my faith and the desire to demonstrate that women can be stylish without sacrificing modesty – again the peekaboo bra strap was not intended – and I absolutely love sharing my sense of style. Once I believed I’d get to do that through a magazine for women…Now, because of blogging, in a sense, my dream has come true. Not only that, it causes me to be a good steward of what I already have and what I acquire. I go to my closet and am more excited than ever about putting together outfits. And believe me, that’s saying something! I’m especially glad I chose this outfit today seeing as our impromptu photo shoot provided the perfect opportunity for me to practice giving the camera the cold shoulder!

Are you Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose about getting outside your comfort zone to enhance and personal or professional pastime or passion? How can you stretch yourself to grow?
