It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose and Monday’s NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writer’s Month produced more quality words than quantity.
Project: Seasons of Her Soul, Lee’s Legacy, Book 2.
Goal: 50, 000 words in 30 days.
Total Overall: 13, 699
Total Book Words: 26, 276
Though I would have loved to have written more, my Monday has consisted of dealing with a D – personal challenge or barrier women face –– in the form of the death of another team member’s mother. This is the 2nd death in as many months – and from the same type of cancer diagnosis –– a devastating D…
Thankfully I was able to minimize my barriers with dance fusion –– an amazing D!!! Then I came home and maximized beauty and my best life by writing a scene that is more about the quality of the words than the quantity.
I pray you will be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic this week and minimize your barriers by doing something that motivates you to achieve your goals. If you’re anything like me, you’ll take quality over quantity any day.
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose, and as I go back to work after starting NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writing Month –– while off on a sick day Friday, I’ve got accountability on the brain. This weekend has been an amazing! Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 of the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50, 000 words in 30 days. Today: 1, 751! Now I need some accountability to keep the writing mojo going during the work week! So rather than discussing negative Ds –– the personal and/or professional challenges and barriers women face –– I’m making a positive D in the form of an accountability declaration!
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and support me on my NaNoWriMo journey! It’s been so great for helping me minimize my barriers so I can maximize beauty and my best life. Let’s do coffee, lunch or dinner soon to celebrate the progress! Or simply like the post to cheer me on. Thank you!
What accountability have you put in place to reach your goals? I’d love to celebrate together!
Be savvy & chic,
~Pink Collar Coach

It’s Day 13 (reset) of the Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose Project and it’s a writing weekend! Turning 50 this month caused me to get it in gear to not only resume blogging but to get cracking on the sequel to my debut novel, Seasons of Her Soul. It released in January 2018 with the promise that the 2nd installation in the Lee’s Legacy trilogy would follow in 2019…Since then, a transition from running my business (same name as the blog) full-time to accepting my dream job as a Women’s Center Direct pressed pause on Hold On Her Heart progress. Today –– despite the Ds or barriers in my life –– like demands on time, I’m choosing to minimize them, redeem that time and press play. Hence this writing weekend.
As a Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Swan with a life full of personal and professional obligations, including being on call around the clock, it’s been easier to come home from a work day or at the end of the week and read. I’ve told myself I’m honing my writing skills –– after all, good writers read good writing –– but honestly, it’s an escape. The reality is no author who ever published more than one book did it by staying in escape mode. Unless that escape had a purpose. When it does, it can feel as if you’re not still working at all. Like this writing weekend.
I hope you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose this weekend and work on whatever dream or goal you may not be able to during the week.
Also hope you’ll check out my novel and want to read the sequel. It can be purchased on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.com. Thank you!
