The Swan Experience: Minimizing Barriers; Maximizing beauty and women's best personal and professional lives through total transformation.
Author: Pink Collar Coach
Life Coach, Author, Speaker. Founder of Pink Collar Savvy & Chic. Life Coaching for women that facilitates The Swan Experience: Minimizing barriers; Maximizing women's beauty and best lives - through total transformation.
I bring unique value to holistic life coaching by specializing in the Ds - or the personal barriers that negatively impact professional performance. In doing so, I prevent derailing and promote women being the best savvy & chic versions of themselves.
Having faced many of the Ds, I hit rock bottom. Then I minimized my barriers and maximized rock bottom as the firm foundation upon which I built not the rest of my life, but the best of my life. Now I coach others.
I also inspire women's career, home, image and life styles. My Pink Collar Portfolio allows me to use all of my God-given strengths to coach, encourage and inspire women working on the homefront or in the workplace to be smart at work, serene at home, to own their sense of style , to be balanced, and to live their best lives. Whether coaching, writing, speaking/training, doing image coaching, or designing a room, faith is the foundation and I strive to serve as a powerful change agent. To the glory of God.
Because you've ALWAYS been a Swan!
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and Days 8 and 9 of NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writing Month –– are doubled up in this post.
Project: Hold on Her Heart, Lee’s Legacy, Book 2.
Goal: 50, 000 words in 30 days.
Yesterday and Today’s Doubled Up Total: 3,94.
Overall Total: 24,678/50,000.
Earned: Badge for passing the 10K mark.
Feels great to maximize Double-Up Day! Especially since I wrote yesterday but didn’t get to post due to Date Night with my hubby. It’s been a long time…The quality time with him went a long way toward minimizing my Ds –– the personal and professional challenges women face –– and maximizing beauty and my best life.
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic and double-up on the things that do the same for you.
It’s another Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Day and I’m on a my 7th Day of NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writer’s Month – and need a rest! Not from writing –– that’s cathartic. Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 in the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50,000 words in 30 days. Today: 1, 247. Total Overall: 8697/50,000.
But I could definitely use a break from dealing with the Ds –– the personal and professional challenges women face. I’m not gonna lie, today, I dealt with some doozies! Yesterday when I spoke at a community summit and shared my story, the fact that it was impactful – that I could clearly see the purpose in the pain –– total mountaintop minute. So I shouldn’t be surprised that our advisory –– the devil –– the worst D out there and the one behind them all –– threw a heavy dose of discouragement my way today. My goldy supervisor pointed that out after praying with me and I appreciate the perspective. It reminds me that when I’m in the valley, I simply need to look up. To my Deliverer! The Best D of all time! He will give me rest.
I pray that if you’re anything like me and are facing Ds, you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose and cling to this promise: “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him (or her in this case) from them all.” – Ps. 34:19 NIV. He is The Deliverer who will minimize your barriers so you can maximize beauty and the best life He has for you.
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and it marks 6 days straight of NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writer’s Month writing with some Community Summit straight talk thrown in.
Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 in the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50,000 words in 30 days. Today: 727. Though that sounds low, and I’m only at 7,450/50,000 with NaNoWriMo, I’m at a total of 20,250 overall. Hey I’ll take it.
Especially given my day. Such a service on purpose morning singing and speaking at a Community Summit to share my Ds story –– the personal and professional challenges and barriers women face –– and how I’ve been able to minimize those Ds to maximize beauty and my best life as the Women’s Center Director at Hope House Mission. Seeing how impactful it was –– to the point of moving the most influential person in the room to tears –– reminds me there’s SO much purpose in the pain.
So does writing Hold on Her Heart..
Thank you so much to those of you who have liked a post here on the blog or via social media. Your encouragement means more than I can say…And that’s all I’ve got to say tonight –– a little worn out from my 6 days straight of writing and early morning straight talk at the summit.
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose and keep sharing your story. Whether it’s through singing, writing, speaking…You never know who needs to hear it. Like me, you may find it’s someone with influence who can make a difference –– a positive D!
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose, and Day 5 of NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writer’s Month 2019, and I’m on a 5 day writing streak.
Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 in the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50,000 words in 30 days. Today: 749. Though a little under 1000 words shy of what I needed today, taking some time to review what I wanted to write tonight slowed me down. That and the fact that I stayed over at work to help someone. Because that was the reason, I’m satisfied with what I got done. It’s quite an undertaking with my professional and personal life, so a 5 day writing streak is an accomplishment – minimizing my Ds –– or challenges/barriers women face –– in the form of my Daily Director Duties and maximizing beauty and my best life by rewarding myself with Daily Writing Badges!
I just pray I can keep up this pace! I have an early morning speaking engagement tomorrow… Also pray that you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic and take a minute to send some encouragement my way!
How are you minimizing your daily Ds and maximizing beauty and your best life? How do you reward yourself when you do?
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and Day 4 of my NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writer’s Month journey. It’s also my first day working my 9-5 and trying to meet my daily writing goals. Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 in the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50, 000 words in 30 days, which is about 1,700 a day. Today, after my busiest work day, Dance Fusion and then writing for about 2 hours, I got 679. I’ll take them! Because they were carefully crafted words that enhance the story based on inspiration from this creative process coupled with feedback from my writing group. Besides, it’s my novel, so I can write how I want to! That’s the lesson I’m learning on giving myself grace. It’s also how I’m minimizing this particular D –– personal or professional challenges or barriers women face –– in the form of a deadline.
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic today and give yourself what I’m sure is some much needed grace as well. Whether it’s around your writing or other goals. I’m over 5,000 words further along in my novel than I was on Friday. That’s forward progress. Even if I didn’t make today’s. It’s not like I’ve been slacking all day. Besides, a girl’s gotta eat, sleep, shower and take care of her family, right? Some time with the Lord helps, too…I can close my laptop tonight knowing I made the most of this particular gift of a day. And as long as we get to the final destination, –– a great D –– every step, no matter how big or small, is a right step on the journey toward maximizing beauty and our best lives.
Around what goals can you give yourself some grace to meet them the way God has uniquely equipped you?
Be savvy & chic,

It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose, and as I go back to work after starting NaNoWriMo –– National Novel Writing Month –– while off on a sick day Friday, I’ve got accountability on the brain. Now I need some accountability to keep the writing mojo going during the work week! So rather than discussing negative Ds –– the personal and/or professional challenges and barriers women face –– I’m making a positive D in the form of an accountability declaration!
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and support me on my NaNoWriMo journey! It’s been so great for helping me minimize my barriers so I can maximize beauty and my best life. It’s another Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose morning, and I’m feeling thankful for Daylight Savings and the extra hour of sleep from falling back! I’m facing a D–– personal and professional barriers or challenges women face –– in the form of my asthma diagnosis. Add that to a seasonal cold and I was up most of the night. I still want to make it to church and teach faith based Zumba afterwards.
As always, God is faithful and supplies all of my needs. He made a way for me to minimize my barrier and maximize beauty and my best life –– In the form of a good D – Daylight Savings!
I pray you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy and Chic and enjoy the blessing of an extra hour today! And don’t forget to set your clocks back if you haven’t already!

It’s another Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Day and my 1st day of NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month. Project: Hold on Her Heart, Book 2 in the Lee’s Legacy Series. Goal: 50,000 words in 30 days/1,700 words a day. 2,443 today. If you’re a Seasons of Her Soul fan or just want to encourage me on my journey, I’d appreciate it! : )
It’s another day of being Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose and this weekend I and my sister Zumba instructors led two hours of dancing for our annual Party in Pink Zumbathon with the purpose of raising funds for the fight against breast cancer –– a major D or challenge women face –– in the form of a diagnosis. All funds raised support the Zumba Global Research Grant for Breast Cancer Prevention managed by Susan G. Komen. As a Women’s Center Director for a homeless shelter serving women and children with one year under my belt as of last week, I still pop up every morning grateful for the opportunity to do social work –– at the boots on the ground level –– that I consider full-time ministry. Likewise, though this year marked my third Zumbathon as an instructor (I teach 2x a week and sub), I’m just just as stoked as the year I became a licensed and officially joined the battle to prevent cancer at my first Party in Pink with the purpose.
Sense of Style (Packaging)
Serene at Home (Personal Life)
Much of the time, I feel like I deal with the Ds on the daily! Lately I’ve battled depression around dysfunctional relationships. Dancing –– a positive D –– keeps my body fit. In fact, dancing led me to discover a 9mm tumor in my breast in 2014. It presented as stage 4 in every test. When biopsied, however, it came back benign. Either a team of physicians got it wrong or The Physician made it all right!!! Dance also resets my emotions to an even keel and keeps me from losing my mind! That release of endorphins you’ve probably heard about? All true! And no matter what music I’m dancing to, there’s always an element of praise and worship in it for me. God created dance as a form of expression and whatever I’m dealing with is laid bare before him when I’m on the floor…I try my best to leave it there and then go home to sleep GOOD! : )
My prayer for you as Breast Cancer Awareness month draws to a close is that you’d be Pink Collar Savvy & Chicon Purpose and complete regular self-checks (that’s how I found the tumor) along with having an annual mammogram. Finally, when you have a chance, attend a Zumbathon and show support for those who have fought valiantly and others who are currently in the fight of their lives. By doing so, you’ll help minimize this barrier and maximize beauty and best lives. Because it’s more than an awesome two-hour chance to dance, it’s a Party in Pink with a purpose!
