Soon after I met my husband while going through one of the worst seasons of my life, he gave me a potted cactus with tiny pink blossoms. Perplexed by the gift, he explained that I was like the cactus –– not only surviving in harsh conditions but blooming.
Now that I’m the Director of a Women’s Center serving women face extremely harsh conditions, I’ve sprinkled the image throughout to inspire them to bloom. This photo, taken on my 50th birthday last week, tilted as it is, is a reminder that we women –– no matter our Ds –– the personal and professional challenges women face –– are meant to bloom.
May you bloom today!
Be savvy & chic,
