It’s Day 358 of the Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Project, and I’m thrilled with the way my spray painted Swan business card holder turned out. A few weeks ago my Swan Sister, Kibby, who has played an integral part in me defining my logo, gifted me with a ceramic swan she purchased while on vacation at a North Carolina thrift store for a quarter! Though it had muted Shabby Chic colors, pure white goes better with my business card and white, pink and gold branding. That wasn’t a problem since I’m a quick draw with my white spray paint can and knew a few coats would bring it fully into my preferred pallet. I’d transformed a black coaster holder for my novel, Seasons of Her Soul’s book cards and it now looks more at home on my marketing table than any standard plastic card holder purchased at an office supply store ever could. Armed with this knowledge and my paint can, I went under the deck and transformed the cute ceramic piece. Now it is an elegant spray painted Swan business card holder.

As a Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose DIYer, entrepreneur and small business owner, I love it when my passions and purpose come together. I’ve always loved taking something inexpensive and using a little energy and little expense to transform it into something beautiful and useful. Though I started doing this as a child long before Rachel Ashwell, the founder of Shabby Chic style, made it chic (I got my dream bedroom at age 13 by painting my wood bedroom furniture white), she’s such an amazing DIYer, entrepreneur and business owner that continue to be inspired by her. Channeling her as I applied the final touches, completing the transformation, I was delighted to find my new business cards with their Swan logo had arrived when I went inside. Just in time for last weekend’s women’s workshop! There they nestled inside the spray painted Swan business card holder gracing the table – such a lovely symbol of transformation – beckoning other Swans to embark on total transformation experiences of their own.
