It’s Day 228 of the Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Project and I’m excited to share Kay Fittes’ announcement of our next workshop on January 20th – Kick Up Your Networking Skills for Career Success. Of all the workshops I’ve done with Kay, the founder of High Heeled Success, I’m looking most forward to this one. Ever since I began partnering with her to present back in 2012, my bio, intro and our speaker page have advertised that my debut novel, Seasons of Her Soul, was being edited for publication or would soon be released. But there has been nothing soon about it! When I finished writing the book ages ago, I had no idea how many years of grueling toil and even trouble lay ahead. Thankfully all the blood, sweat and tears have finally culminated in Seasons of her Soul being released this Friday! Having the book in hand for the upcoming workshop was my greatest motivating factor as I neared the finish line and kept me focused on the prize. The process has provided great lessons in networking, all of which have contributed to my success in becoming a published author.
For instance, I maximized correspondence with a magazine publisher to turn my first published article into a monthly column. And while I was slow to get started (fear held me back – we’ll address that at the workshop) and am by no means an expert on social media, I have maximized it to build my reader audience, following, and a platform by posting on purpose daily for the last six months. Best of all, my book is being published as a result of maximizing a relationship I built with an award-winning author I met at a writing conference.
As a Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose networker, I’m looking forward to sharing insight and inspiration on how to maximize networking opportunities to grow your personal and professional circles and influence. In fact, my relationship with Kay evolved from me acting on her invitation to contact her with any questions following one of her workshops when I was just starting out as a child care center director…Relationships are the recurring theme in my success story.
I hope you’ll be Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose and accept this invitation to Kick Up Your Networking Skills for Career Success. Whether you’re on the home front (like me writing those first magazine articles) or in the workplace, networking is a skill that can help you reach your goals. Seasons of Her Soul being published is proof.
Be savvy & chic,
~Pink Collar Coach
