Pink Collar Proud To Be An American

Pink Collar Proud To Be An American

Day 64 of the Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Project is also July 4th, which I usually refer to as Independence Day. It was a great holiday taking time to be thankful for the freedom we have as Americans and for all the sacrifices that have been made to earn our liberty. Some family time, City Barbecue, relaxing, fireworks, and then some soft serve vanilla chocolate swirl. I snapped lots of pics of the pink fireworks but only one turned out. I’ll take it.

Love that the it looks like a hearts bursting with pink pride!

Firework hearts bursting with pink pride.

As a believer, I know it’s not only been the sacrifices of American men and women that has bought my freedom. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for my liberty.

Earlier today, before the fireworks, I snapped a photo of a picture that hangs in my daughter’s room.

My heart unfolds like flowers before Him!

It’s so simple but reminds me not only of a shower of fireworks but of these lyrics by Henry van Dyke:

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,

God of glory, Lord of love;

Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee;

Opening to the sun above.

As a Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose chick – a female and a minority – I’m grateful to those who fought for our freedom, religious and otherwise, and I’m so proud to be an American. Our country is far from perfect, but at least we’re free.
