Pink Collar Power Shabby Chic Power Finale Preview – Referent Power

The Pink Collar Savvy & Chic on Purpose Project is on Day 23 and I’ve got design on my mind. As I’ve mentioned nearly every week, Tuesday nights are the one weeknight I watch television. HGTV’s Fixer Upper and now Home Town are educational and entertaining. My love for decorating goes back to my great aunt’s home, which was shabby before it was chic, and led me to earn my first degree in Interior Design. Though I     landed a design job at one of Cincinnati’s premier firms as a young twenty-something, I was terrified of my boss, who made Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada (Please see the first post in the series – May 19th) look like an angel of light. I left what I’d thought would be a dream job but was actually a nightmare and earned my teaching degree. Though most of my career in education has evolved over the years, my passion for design has remained constant. Much of that is tied to Rachel Ashwell and the world of Shabby Chic. Consequently, she’s the inspiration behind tomorrow’s post on referent power. I hope some of you Pink Collar women will check it out tomorrow as I’m exhausted and have to hit the sack…Pink Collar Savvy and Chic on Purpose professionals – inside and outside the workplace –  know when to do that. Until then, a preview of tomorrow’s post:
